Private Lessons are a great way to learn, or as a supplement to group instruction.

Taking private lessons from one of our skilled figure skating professionals allows you to improve your own skills faster and at your own rate of learning while preparing you to pass a new test level and/or participate in competitions.

Lesson fees do not include the price of admission and/or skate rental.  These fees are payable directly to the rink.

Our coaches operate as Independent Contractors who use our facility to teach their private lessons; therefore, they set their own schedule based on their availability and payment for the lesson is made directly to the coach.

Coaching Philosophy
As a passionate and dedicated coach with 10+ years of experience in the figure skating world, my coaching philosophy is rooted in creating an encouraging and uplifting atmosphere. I aim to teach students not only skating skills, but also fundamental life skills -- from the importance of getting back up after you fall, to learning how practice makes perfect when learning a new skill. As a coach, I am both enthusiastic and patient as I recognize that skating skills do not come easily to all and each individual may have different ways that they learn best. Whether you are looking to learn jumps and spins or merely learn the basics, I am happy to assist you with your skating goals!

About me/background
I started skating when I was seven years old and although I could barely stand on my own two feet at first, I quickly fell in love with the sport. Soon after, I began skating competitively through both ISI and USFSA. After competing as an individual skater for nearly 10 years and even attending Oakland School for the Arts with skating as my emphasis, I transitioned to coaching at Oakland Ice Center, teaching both group and private lessons to all ages - from tiny tots to adults - and all levels - from beginner to advanced skater. I love working on both basic skills and jump and spin technique, but most of all I want my students to have fun while they improve their skating skills, and to come to love skating as much as I do. I recently returned to competitive skating as a member of the Cal Figure Skating Team at UC Berkeley.
