Help us bring a smile to a child!
It’s that time of year again to spread the holiday spirit and put smiles on the faces of Oakland’s children in need. The Oaklanders Assistance Center, with help from our friends at the Oakland Fire Department, have organized one of the city’s largest toy distribution sites. Last year alone we were able to provide toys to over 8,000 children from low-income families. That’s over 16,000 dolls, trucks, books, board games, sports equipment, and gift certificates.
Make a tax-deductible contribution. Each year, demand exceeds the number of toys collected – especially for older kids. A tax-deductible monetary donation will help us purchase the additional toys needed. To make a secure, online donation, visit https://posweb.oaklandnet.com/POSWeb/toydrive.aspx.
Donate toys. When you’re out shopping, pick up something extra for a child in need. Just drop a new, unwrapped toy in one of the many collection bins that will be in place in the main lobby through December 23. You may drop toys off at any of the following locations during regular business hours:
