FALL 2010 ADULT HOCKEY CLASSES

We offer several adult hockey classes designed to challenge any adult hockey player (18+) who's looking to learn new skills, hone the skills they have or just work up a sweat after a long day. For many, our Adult Hockey Classes are taken in preparation for play in our Sharks Ice Adult Hockey League (SIAHL).  Though it is not mandatory for new players to follow the entire class progression listed below, we do recommend taking all of the classes in order for the player to maximize his/her enjoyment in the sport. 

UPDATE: SKATE RENTAL IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION COST FOR ANY CLASS – 12 session skate rental books are available at the front desk at a discounted price of $30 (12 skate rentals for the price of 10). There is no gear available for use during the Thursday Intermediate/Advanced class. If you forget a piece of gear, everything is available for purchase in our Pro‐Shop. Gear may be available on a per session basis for beginners on Sunday who are registering for their first Hockey Learn to Skate class. All returning skaters should be in the process of acquiring their own sets of gear. All borrowed gear must be returned to an Oakland Ice Center employee upon completion of each class.

Adult Hockey Beginner Class:
NEW TIME!** 5:15-6:15pm Sundays NHL (Start date - September 26) - 12 week series - $165
Class will focus primarily on the basic skills of skating, puckhandling, passing, and shooting.
 
**Some Beginner classes may begin at 5:30pm or occasionally take place on the OLY Rink. Please check at the front desk prior to each class to determine exact start time and rink location.

Adult Hockey Intermediate/Advanced Class
6:30-7:30pm Thursdays NHL (Start date - September 23) - 12 week series - $165
Class for skaters who want less instruction and more challenging drills. Great for adult leaguers who are looking for extra ice time or just hoping to avoid traffic!

Monday Night Power Skating and Hockey Skills Class
NEW FORMAT! 5:15-6:15pm OLY (Start date - September 20) - 12 week series - $165

Power Skating Instructor Alyn Libman and Hockey Coach Jay Suyeishi will lead a condensed 60 minute version of Power Skating and
Hockey Skills. All sessions will encompass both power skating as well as utilizing learned skating skills into various hockey skill drills.

There is no gear available for use during the Monday night Power Skating and Hockey Skills. If you forget a piece of gear, everything
is available for purchase in our Pro‐Shop.

While this class is open to players of all ages and abilities, if you have never registered for a hockey class before, we highly
recommend the Beginner Hockey Lessons on Sundays.
